Committees meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month.  There is a supper hosted by one of the committees at 530 PM, with the workgroup session at 600PM, followed by Church Council at 700PM.  All members are encouraged to participate on a committee of their choice.  Christian Education: Provide educational opportunities which broaden the understanding and knowledge of Jesus Christ and the principles of faith of the United Church of Christ.  Facilities and Finance: Oversee maintenance, design, and funding of Congregational UCC facilities for worship, operations, and mission. Service Service and Outreach: Create, plan, and implement opportunities for members to serve the congregation, the Newton community, Iowa, and the world. Staff and Volunteer Development: Integrate the work of staff, council, committees, and individual members to make it easier for everyone to carry out the mission and ministry of Congregational UCC, and to do it in a way that is effective, efficient, and without duplication. Annually report progress towards vision and mission to the council. Worship and Music:  Introduce new worship and theological opportunities to the congregation within the context of group activities.
